My objects are small glass bottles sealed with corks. The corks are removable, and the bottles are in different shapes, including a heart.
These objects indicate the individual who created them wishes to preserve even small items or substances in their life, and that others who buy these objects want the same.
Some of the things my bottles might represent are the ideas of women’s fashion products (creams or perfumes that come in odd bottles), potions, or ornate bottles of alcohol.
I think I want to associate the bottles with women’s beauty products in my sculpture. I want to create a large number of the bottles, almost to an overwhelming amount, and fit some of them inside a small container I have that looks like a dresser/cabinet. This I feel will deliver the connotation that women are pressured or feel that they must have many, many products in order to appear desirable, to the point where some women may have a frightening number of products they use.
