My object is literally a baby, riding a dolphin, holding up a shell. I would guess that the original intended use of this is as a candy dish. I think my object represents literally a beachy scene in heaven. Its fantastical and not realistic while depicting real things. I think my object represents and has undertones and associations to Greek mythology and is similar to old marble statues. A baby could never ride a dolphin and it feels straight out of a story or tale. It reminds me of a young Poseidon. From the moment I saw this object I knew I wanted to make commentary on the ocean. This statue is so innocent and the dolphin is smiling and it makes you feel happy. But the icebergs are melting, the water levels are rising. I want to explore either adding trash to the shell the baby is holding or melting the object.
