The object I have chosen to work with is a squirrel, which is a very common mammal native to a large portion of North America as well as small sections of Europe and Africa.
According to one source, squirrels can represent good things to come, fun, positivity, change, and resourcefulness.
I think that squirrels carry connotations of aloofness and fun in everyday life. Especially on campus, it’s not very out of the ordinary to see a squirrel, and when you sit and watch them for a little while often they do funny things or things that don’t necessarily make sense. They are most often seen chasing each other through the trees, burying things in the ground, or launching out of trashcans at astronomical speeds.
I really want my project to focus on the fun, carefree nature of squirrels but also imagine it in a new way with unexpected colors and movement.
